Hey all Very Happy

So I was wondering, what books have you read? Why did you read them? And what is your opinion on them?

You may ask why I opened this thread, well, it's because I'm cutting down on the amount of Pokemon (again Wink) and I always enjoy a good book, I think others do too. So let's make each other enthusiatic Very Happy

The book I read first in English is The Catcher in the Rye. I picked it, because it was mentioned in the well-known song 'We didn't start the Fire' so I figured it had to be a good book :3 I was right on that matter, I really enjoyed reading it. Reading a book from another teenagers point of view is very interesting imo, so this book was just perfect for me :)Good books are always too short Sad

Please share some books below, and tell us if you like or dislike them  Razz

Thanks in advance,

Sky pokemon

Last week I bought Red Dragon, I got it from the second hand store, and got it because I've seen the film, and I love Hannibal Lecter. The downside of the book is that it's hard to read as a book after watching the film, because I just keep going through what happens in the film as I watch it.. but good side is that it seems to be way more descriptive about the characters' thought worlds.

Then again, I've read like 1/4 of it so far.. I've lacked some energy to read it at home, so I mainly read it at work when it's quiet.

Ufff thats a though question

I've read a lots of books and on very different genres, for example a good book with a movie coming soon is Enders Game, amazing series of books you could enjoy IMO

Also you could try reading the Dresden Files to see a kick a** wizard saving the world!!

If you like more chik themed books you could read the Fallen series which are amazing from the second book onwards.

Thats the first ones on the top of my mind xD

I think you might also enjoy some of Terry Pratchett's books regarding Discworld (his own creation..), the books tend to be mid-priced, though, so not exactly cheap (If I have to pay like 4-5€ from second-hand store and 10€ as new, I consider it mid-priced/expensive, because I am cheap like that..)

Anyway.. the books don't need too much of thought, even though there is a vivid amount of imagination in them, they make ideal funny/catchy easy to read books that do not consume a lot of time (as they do not need a lot of thought, and they are generally 200-300 pages, which goes pretty fast in my opinion)

My absolute favourite by him is Mort, it's about a  boy ending up as Death's apprentice and falling in love with his daughter, it was great.. 5/5

Edit : The Discworld series are somewhat related, as in character / place-wise, but it does not matter at all, you can basically pick any of his work and be happy with it (granted you like his writing)
