You've searched for this place for a long while, apparently having the reputation of being the place where the deceased go to journey to the world beyond, is not a place someone might want to know about.
At long last you reached Spring Path which leads to the supposedly "Secret Lake" of Sinnoh. From what you managed to gather this is a forest area with little to no human presence.
As you keep advancing you started to notice the sun is not shinning as brightly, and suddenly dense fog starts appearing.
What comes next surprises you as much as the sudden fog, you were expecting lush forests and lots of vegetation, instead the trees are dead and withered and the land looks scorched, desolated, as if this was the site of a great cataclysm, but that couldn't be, it would have been announced in the news, right?
The fog is getting denser, you are afraid to move forward, you might get lost, but you have come this far you intend to finish what you started, with that thought in mind you suddenly found a path with Lampent like lights, looks like you might get what you wished for.
Following this path is becoming increasingly difficult, the trees creaks, and from time to time you hear twigs break, what you thought were Pokémon noises at the beginning seems to be something else; you feel it watching you, measuring you; it's like something not of this world.
After a while the Lampent path leads you to the entrance of a cavern, that's something new; nobody told you anything of a cave, but still you march ahead heedless of whatever lurks in the fog.
Inside the cave you found an inscription in the stone:
This is... That where life sparkles... That where life has faded... A place where two worlds overlap...
...Past eight pillars... to the sleeping... but only one guarding it... The entrance to that other world...
Earlier this day you might have dismissed the message as a bad joke, but after your travel through Spring Path you are not so sure anymore. Also you try to ignore with all your might that the message appeared to be clawed in the stone.
Going deeper into the cave you notice something is wrong but you can't pinpoint what it is, there's only you and the sound of footsteps on the steel floor...
That's it! Steel floor! So much for no human presence in the area. But you've reached a huge door, its obsidian and with strange markings along the edge, you can't identify what it's made of, not that you want to anyways.
The door opens on its own accord, and a huge cavern shrouded in darkness awaits you, as you take your first step you see a couple of red eyes! Your breath stops, you get goose bumps, and you get the overpowering desire to run and never come back, as you begin to turn you heard a deep voice.
-'So you've decided to come. Welcome to the Ghost Gym and prepare to fight.'
Light filled the place and you see a couple of Chandelures on the ceiling, you see an arena, floating over a chasm filled with black light and the referee starts to tell you the rules.
Battle will be in XY OU
Sleep, Freeze, Wifi, Species, and Self-KO clauses must be enabled
All other clauses must be disabled.
No Hazards. Because of the unique nature of this cave the hazards won't work as expected so you might as well not use them.
If you were to win you'll get the Dusk Badge.
As soon as the referee ends his explanation the first person to speak send his Gengar to the field.
And even though this is a normal Pokémon battle, you can't help but feel that this might not be a normal Pokémon battle at all...
